I felt I was made for as soon as I stepped on the court at the age four. I’ve been through a hard time during my career. This year I’m in the playoffs for the first time, it feels like a dream come true. Now I’d glad to share something about basketball in my mind with you guys!
My mom was the first person to lead me to the basketball world. Many years ago I started playing basketball in my hometown, El Masnou, in Barcelona Spain. I was just 4 years old, but my mom convinced the coach to let me play with other kids. Some of these kids are still my good friends. I did like it a lot, it was fun and dynamic, and you get the ball all the time.
My basketball idol growing up was Magic Johnson, and I guess my basketball style growing up was always passing and creating for my teammates. I was pretty tall too for the PG position like Magic, so I guess he was a referent for me.
It feels like this is the right place and right time. I feel the joy of basketball here. I think the strength of this team is the team. Everybody gives one hundred percent effort every night. It’s a different team of nowadays NBA. We don’t have just one star, two stars or big three. I think it’s a whole team of course. We got Donovan having a great season as a rookie. But I think the whole team is stepping up. Joe Ingles has a great year and Rudy we missed him at the beginning of this year and now he is back. He helps a lot favor. We can name a lot of guys in the team. From the first day I came here, my teammates showed their kind for me. It was incredible to play in a team that was friendly and caring.
It’s basketball. I love it. It is a big part of who I am today.
